frequently asked questions

What locations do you serve?

Car Labs proudly serves the Magic Valley and all surrounding areas including, Burley, Twin Falls Rupert, Paul, Heyburn, Declo, Jerome, American Falls and more in between. Our mobile detailing units come directly to you, offering high quality detailing services for vehicles, boats, RVs, Trucks, and more across the region.

What's the difference between a car wash & detailing?

A car wash is a quick surface clean. A detail goes much deeper by cleaning hard-to-reach areas, removing embedded contaminants, restoring surfaces, and applying protection.

Why Mobile Detailing?

We know life can get pretty hectic and finding time to get your car cleaned can seem impossible. That’s why we’ve built our mobile detailing units, equipped with the highest quality equipment so we can bring that new car feel to you, wherever you are, without you having to lift a finger. That’s the Car Labs difference.

Is Car Labs Membership Only?

Yes. Car Labs is a membership-only detailing service. New clients join through the Lab Rat Care Plan and then select a monthly, quarterly, or biannual service schedule.

This allows us to prioritize ongoing client relationships and focus on keeping vehicles consistently clean instead of repeatedly rescuing them after months or years of buildup.

What is included in a detail?

Each package is different, but our goal is always the same: restore, protect, and maintain your vehicle. You can view the full package breakdown on our booking page.

How long does a detail take?

Service times vary based on vehicle size, condition, selected plan, and work being completed.

The initial Spotless Premium Reset generally takes longer than future recurring maintenance appointments beccause it establishes the vehicle's clean starting point. Most services take between 2-8 hours depending on the package selected and the condition of the vehicle.

Do I need to be present during the appointment?

No! As long as we have access to the vehicle and any necessary keys, we can complete the service while you're at work, at home, or anywhere else you need to be.

Do I need to provide water or electricity?

No, we come fully prepared with our own water supply and power source. All we need is access to your vehicle and a safe space to work.

How much does detailing cost?

Pricing depends on vehicle size, condition, and the services selected. We provide upfront pricing before any work begins.

Do you only detail cars?

Nope we don't just detail cars. We also service work trucks, farm equipment, contractor equipment, boats, RVs, golf carts, side-by-sides, and more. If it drives, flies, or floats and it gets dirty, we can clean it!

What if I'm not happy with the results?

That's where our "Wow or It's Free" Guarantee comes in. If you're not satisfied, we'll come back and make it right. If you're still not happy, we'll refund your money and give you a $100 gift card towards a future service to make it right.

Why should I choose Car Labs?

Because we're focused on results, not shortcuts. We use professional-grade products, proven processes, and obsessive attention to detail to deliver the best possible outcome for every vehicle.

This includes your complimentary Spotless Premium Interior Reset, “WOW or It’s Free” Guarantee, Unlimited Oops Pass, Biannual Protection Package, annual service credits, and five Friends & Family Gift Cards each year.

Is the Initial Reset Detail really included?

Yes. Your complimentary Spotless Premium Interior & Exterior Reset is included when you join the Lab Rat Care Plan.

The service has a regular value of $699 and establishes the clean baseline needed for your recurring service plan.

What is the Unlimited "Oops" Pass?

The Unlimited Oops Pass helps members address qualifying accidental spills and unexpected messes between regularly scheduled services.

Contact Car Labs when an incident happens. We will review the situation and determine the appropriate cleanup solution under the terms of the benefit.

The Oops Pass is designed for accidental messes and is not a substitute for full scheduled details, restoration services, biohazard remediation, mold removal, odor remediation, or damage repair.

What is included in the Biannual Protection Package?

Twice per year, qualifying member vehicles receive our three-part protection package straight from The Lab:

  • Interior SpillShield Tech
  • ClearView Windshield Tech
  • Ceramic Exterior RainBlock Tech

These treatments help protect commonly exposed surfaces and make the vehicle easier to maintain.

How do the annual service credits work?

Every year, members receive:

  • $100 toward window tinting
  • $100 toward ceramic coating
  • $100 toward paint correction
  • $100 toward equipment detailing
  • $100 toward marine detailing

Each credit applies only to its designated service category and is subject to membership terms, minimum service requirements, availability, and expiration dates.

Credits have no cash value and cannot be combined unless specifically approved.

How do the Friends & Family Gift Cards work?

Members receive five $100 Friends & Family Gift Cards each year.

The cards can be shared with eligible new customers and used according to the stated gift card terms, service minimums, expiration dates, and availability.

How Does the membership cover more than one vehicle?

Each membership and recurring service plan is assigned to the approved vehicle listed during enrollment unless otherwise stated in your membership agreement.

Additional vehicles may require separate memberships or may qualify for multi-vehicle member pricing.

Can I change my service frequency?

Plan changes may be available with advance notice and approval from Car Labs.

Moving to a more frequent plan may be completed sooner, while moving to a less frequent plan may take effect after the current service commitment has been fulfilled.

What types of vehicles can become members?

We care for cars, SUVs, trucks, family vehicles, work trucks, classics, and other qualifying vehicles on our membership plans.

We also provide services for boats, RVs, side-by-sides, golf carts, farm equipment, contractor equipment, and other specialty vehicles, but these are provided as one off services or require a custom membership plan.

Can I book a one-time detail without becoming a member?

Car Labs is focused on membership-based vehicle care.

Limited specialty services, restoration work, commercial projects, marine services, equipment detailing, paint correction, ceramic coatings, or window tinting may be available separately at Car Labs’ discretion. Routine auto detailing is reserved for Lab Rat members.

Why should I choose a membership instead of booking individual details?

Individual detailing solves the problem temporarily. A membership is designed to prevent the vehicle from returning to the same condition.

You begin with a complete reset, receive scheduled ongoing service, protect key surfaces, gain access to accidental-mess support, and receive benefits you would not receive by purchasing one detail at a time.
